SUGAR FREE

Surrender to protect ourselves from the brutality of this world. Guitarist Robin Nitram creates a sonic environnement made of sounds and melodies showing the way toward the unknown. On Sugar Free, the quest is to lose yourself. Songs like Nothing, Un Petit Météore and Welcome are similar to some old paths bringing the listener back and forth between clarity and darkness. It is the first time in studio that Nitram used sampled voices allowing him to share another kind of vibration without breaking the link that has been already established. It is also the first time you can hear the guitarist on an acoustic guitar in a solo setting. The song Tudee is a contemporary etude using all the sonic potential of the acoustic guitar bringing new colors to the final painting. Finally, the first tune Love Is Safe has been written like a mantra. Le discours musical reste inchangé mais les textures contrastent avec les autres titres de l’album. Sugar Free pourrait bien être la bande son d’une quête, celle du moment présent et de la fuite.

Vroum Vroum

Motto Trio is Robin Nitram’s latest album. In recent years, Robin has traveled between Hanoi, Chicago, London, New York, Madrid, Brussels, Lisbon, Porto, Siena… and his travels have resulted in compositions that he performs with Nicolas Zentz on double bass and Ewen Grall on battery.

The trio’s music oscillates between sometimes hazy or incisive melodies, sprinkled with improvisation without which all this would only be a simple “health course”. Vroum Vroum is an invitation to travel and the sound story of young musicians from a generation that fights, claims and tells in music.

VOYAGES IMMOBILES

The album Voyages Immobiles is a compilation of four improvisations based on four photos taken by four photographers around the world. Despite the confinement in France, the idea was to be able to escape musically and mentally with the soundscapes played by Robin Nitram using his guitars and effects pedals.

Recorded between May and November 2020.

Super Alone

After a stint at the Museum of Modern Art with the improvisation class of the CRR de Paris directed by Eric Barret, Robin decided to continue exploring the possibilities of improvisation between painting and music. The long sound tracks invite wandering and sublimate the works of art then exhibited by Louis Mari Maudet. Improvisation is queen and the improviser is king.
